Sky Phase 3 for the 3D isnt expected for the home until the start of the new footie season. By which only then will actual Tvs really be in much stock/supply with models only beginning to arrive by April/May onwards this year.
The passive technology for the pubs is good as they can dish out the cheap glasses. TVs like the LG model are passive having a filter built into the screen combining the Left & Right images. Quality will come at a price and although its easier for a family to purchase a 3D tv like the LG which will work with cheap glasses (same Reald ones as cenema) it will not give the quality and smoother motion the Panasonic/Sony technologies use with shutter glasses offering full 1080p at 120HZ or indeed 48Hz for Blu Ray (60/24 doubled for each eye)
Word from CES this year was that the Panasonic Plasma was the best (and Won best tv at the show award). The shutter technology comes with the disadvantage with the glasses going to be costing £100 approx each but some models being packaged with them.
i'll wait for the price to come down. yes at sometime it will take off, but not in a huge way just yet.
Will be to expensive for new TV and other kit.
Thou will be interesting to see it.
