I'm trying to cut some costs with my Sky package. At the moment i have a SkyHD box and i've just asked for HD to be removed to save £10/month. Will i lose any recording functionality once the HD goes even though i will still be using the HD box?
I'm not able to, but I suspect Sky have done something wrong to my subscription. I can't pause live TV either. I plan to phone them in the next few days to see whether they've done something wrong or the 'plus' functionality really is entirely removed once you remove the HD package. You'll still be able to watch BBC HD and Channel 4 HD, by the way - though not E4 HD, oddly.
The recording features are free aslong as you have any kind of subscription wotsoever, You can record the FTA HD channels and any other channel you can see as part of your package, your sky plus functionality shouldnt be affected in any way, but obviously wont playback any content that is not in your subscription, you can still record it for a later date for when or if you up your subs again.
The poster EVH is correct in saying your anytime will be a bit hit and miss due to a lot of stuff in there not being part of your package, and any recordings you have got at the minute thats channels would fall out of your sub package will become unwatchable also.
Fini if you still have a sky sub no matter how small you should be able to do all the sky plus features, someones messed up your account permissions and they will need to add the recording functions back to your account, simple phonecall.
