Sky Hub rubbish wifi speeds. Access point or new Router?

Hi guys.

I'm getting fed up with the supplied sky hub router.

I have a server running xpenology plugged straight to the router and I can't even stream a 720p 700mb tv episode to my fire tv in the bedroom. Forget about 1080p content. Gaming in the spare room also keeps dropping out frequently.

Should I be looking to just plug an access point straight into the sky hub or should I buy a whole new router? I have seen that the Ethernet ports are only 100mbs so I would be limited on the network capacity unless I also bought a gigabit switch to plug server and access point into the hub?

Would there be any issues if I just went for a new router?

I only have ADSL up to 10mb so I need to make the most of what I can get!

Any advice on which route to go?

Cheers

Well I'm sure bledd will be here soon to say cable you're house up but if that isn't suitable get some decent home plugs. I have a firestick and the wifi on it is so bad I have a reused a old bt hub as an access point and put it right next to it.

So although you still need wifi for the firestick (I recommend above) what ever you use for gaming can be cabled up with the home plugs
