Sky internet, can i get a better speed?

Hi!

Ive had this broadband with sky for like 5 years or so not really sure. my downloads have always been around 500-600KB/s which was fine but these days that seems incredibly slow!

can my speed be increased? im in a normal area, newish housing estate near the town centre so not out in the sticks etc

it may only be a 2MB connection cant really remember, i know its unlimited download allowance.

what should i do? im not the bill payer i think its all in the old mans name

*additional information, the netgear sky router (maybe a quite old) is hooked up in my room and ethernet to my PC and PS3 to help things, no need for wireless

check to see if you can get BT Infinity in your area.

If, so then you might be able to get Sky fibre, simple transfer process, as your already have Sky broadband.

sky fttc if you can get it, I went from 5mbit to 40mbit, very pleaded with it

I have 100mb virgin fibre at home, best connection I've ever had its unreal. Any fibre connection will be a massive upgrade on 2mb though

500-600KB/s mean you have a connection of around 5Mb, not 2Mb.

Check yer router stats.
move to test socket recheck stats.
