I've recently been getting very bad lag on my BT connection, which has been confirmed to be exchange congestion by my ISP(entanet) - which I do believe. Latency is in high 40's-low 50's all day and then come 5-6pm it goes to sometimes well over 1000ms which is unplayable, let allone in a 25man raid.

I've looked on Samknows and my exchange is Sky LLU enabled and I want to see what peoples experiences are on the service?

Any information like latency etc would be very helpfull in making me decide. It's not the connect(bt) but the LLU(sky's own equipement) service that I'm thinking of getting, so any experiences would be helpfull.

I am having the same problems with BT, I know what your going through, and it is bad, I am in contact with there tech support and they are seeing into it and getting me to run speed tests to prove it is just congestion and maybe they can get BT to sort it out as online gaming after 4pm is fubarred till 12 midnight at least for me.

Sky was very good when I could get there LLU service and I would recomend moving to them, we could use upto 3 connections (2 pc's and a laptop for browsing) and still play online games at anytime when I had Sky's LLU service

What about the latency to WoW servers, I know they don't use fastpath for the ADSL connection so I wondered how much difference in latency that caused?

If they are Uk servers your ping should be good, depending on line quality of course.

You can always ring them to get max delay settings reduced which would aid in better pings aswell, a lot of isp's would'nt do that. But Sky will.

Well after having to bow out of another 25 man raid tonight with 4k latency which is obviously unplayable I'm going to move to Sky LLU.

From what I've read the WoW europe servers are located in France, so not a million miles away. I've not had lag problems in the last three years and it's only from 5pm onwards, after 12 it goes back to 40ms latency - so unusable for teh time period I need it for, it's a joke.

Thats BT for you, seems they have completly lost the plot with providing a usable broadband product, I really hate what they do to me at peak times, only thing is to get on the phone and complain a lot, thats what I have been doing and I'm not sure if it will end well but I hold a little hope lol

I'm on fastpath with Sky LLU. I think the Interleaved thing is for longer lines so if you are miles from the exchange then it might affect you. Even when I was on Interleaved in my old house I had them reduce a setting at their end and my pings dropped from 60+ to around 40, this took an email and a few days.

A ping of 40 would be fine as long as it's stable 40ms, I just don't want to sign up to a 12 month contract and still be in the same position.

It would be a bonus if you can get fastpath, but from all that I've read the interleaved is enabled by default. My line is only 2km, with an attenuation of 25db, but not sure if that is a long line in dsl terms or not.

Anyway, MAC code applied for and hopefully Sky can sort me out asap.

Thanks everyone.

If you know the ip address of the server you play, i can ping it for you with my line.

I have higher attenuation, something like 47db, and get like 5mb from the top package, so your pings should be better then anything i can get, so id be glad to do a ping test for you if you like.

Thanks for the offer but the servers don't respond to icmp/ping tests via command prompt.

I'm now all signed up to sky unlimited and go live on Tuesday the 18th so I'll find out then :)

Hi, been with Sky just over to years, always found their customer service very good, if l ping bbc.co.uk l get a ping of average 31. My two sons play BO + Wow and me BC2 and we have no problems at all, we are about 1.5 miles from the exchange.

Can't wait for Sky to bring 40MB out in my area.

Ah ok, was worth a shot anyways lol.

From my own experience moving from regular adsl, to sky's llu my pings droped, speeds increased, with it still being on the same line, so should be the same for you.

Basicly it can't get much worse then you have now so i hope after the 10 day testing period (speeds will fluctuate during that time) your pings are more stable for you.

Lol thats what im waiting for to oldphart, but im not holding my breath for either sky or bt to bring it to my area any time within then next 5 years lol.
