Requested my MAC from Sky yesterday via email and received an email back from them stating I required to call them to discuss it as they needed to verify my identity over the phone which was fair enough. So called them up on the number in the email which was 03332022152. Spoke to a very helpful guy there who took my details and said he needed to put me on hold for a few minutes to refresh my account whilst the MAC was generated. Couple of minutes later he came back on and read the MAC out to me over the phone. Asked me to read it back to him then said that was it and was there anything else he could help with. Nope, cheers. I then asked him if I would receive an email confirmation of the MAC code being generated so I could at least have a time stamp for it and he said there would be an email sent out, yes. Was quite amazed as I expected to have all sorts of sales pitch chucked at me to retain my custom but he didn't even ask once why I wanted to change providers. Just issued the MAC straight away without any hassle. Didn't explain any terms and conditions in reference to the MAC either as in how long it was valid for etc, but I know that already.
I've still not got an email confirming this though, how long should that take to come through? I assume I can use the MAC straight away as I intend jumping ship from Sky to BT. I was with O2 and have been migrated over to Sky on a rolling month to month contract so terminating contract early wont apply as technically there isn't one of any consequence.
