Hi all,

I know Sky use O2 as it's carrier but has anyone noticed it being absolutely trash of late? The wife and I are both on Sky on new phones and both suffer from full signal, 3/4G showing yet data is iffy at best, calls are random cut out. A coverage checker where we live and it's all green for 4G. Listening to Apple Music in the car is woeful. We even were away for the weekend in a popular town and still both suffered from it.

Anyone share the same experience?

My phone signal has just died on Sky Mobile in Tameside (about 8 miles east of Manchester), it's really windy though so perhaps some infrastructure has been damaged?

Apart from this though has been ok in general.

I’d say this has been going on for around 4/5 months now. Support from them has been awful.

Are you both using the same phone model? Does it support Wi-Fi calling? Could help with the situation at home but apart from that not sure what else to suggest when out and about.

She's on the 13, mine is an 11. Yeah I used to have WIFI calling but there are spots in our house where it doesn't cover so mobile data proved to be more useful, I guess I will change it again.

I left Sky Mobile (O2 MVNO) due to congestion, but didn't have any issues with calls dropping.

What's Vodafone coverage like in your area?

Always the case in these cheaper MVNOs in my experience. If you want decent performance you really need to be on the full fat plan on the mother network. O2 for me is excellent. Only one I’ve found poor is 3, data just didn’t work anywhere highly populated with them.

What is up with this lot lately?

Had an annoying on/off outage a few weeks ago and now another bad one. It’s been down for hours. That’s some flaky infrastructure they’ve got.

Just not good enough. I want compensation

Rant over
