Hi.
I have a question regarding Sky / Multiroom.

As i understand it, each Sky Dish has 4 feeds on it. 1 is used for each SkyBox & 2 for a Sky+ Box. Not sure on how many for a SkyHD box.

Anyway.
The TV downstairs is a SDTV, with a normal and ancient SkyBox.
My TV in my room is a HDTV one.
Would it be possible to have multi room & SkyHD at the same time. With the 2nd box being in my room, as a SkyHD one?

Thanks in advance all. :)

Sky HD requires 2 feeds as it is a Sky + box.

If you end up needing more than 4 feeds tell Sky you need an Octo-LNB when you order.

So you want multiroom with the hd box in your room ?
Yes.
So there would be 2 boxes. The main one being a SD one downstairs, and the second one being a HD one in my room.

As i understand it, apart from the price of the Box, its an extra £10 a month if the subscription has sports & movies isnt it?

I'm looking for the answer to exact same question as you at the moment. I thought it was 3 feeds for Sky HD but i haven't seen it on the site. Also i don't know if the 2nd box has to have a phone cable connected as i have no sockets for it in my room upstairs. I'm hoping they don't have to drill a hole in my wall like the one they did downstairs either.

Sky 1 feed
Sky + 2 feeds
Sky HD 2 feeds

If you take a multiroom mirror sub on the second box then both boxes must be connected to a phone line. Sky will do a call back every now and then to check. If the boxes are not connected in the first instance you will get a warning letter. Then after that they will charge you full price for both subscriptions.

Sky subscription + £10 (multiroom) + £10 (HD)

There is no charge for Sky + features if you subscribe to 2 premium channel packages. Otherwise add another £10.

So what would the cost be if the existing subscription was the full packages?

£42.50 for full package

Multiroom + £10
HD + £10

Sky + free as you have 2 premium channels

Price for full package to increase by £1.50 per month shortly.

iirc it's £1 increase to £43.50.

As has been said, technically you can have many many many feeds from one dish. Far more then 8 anyway.

However, you only need a total of 3 so Sky will install a "quad LNB".

Yes your right it's a rise of £1 from Sept 1st.

It was £1.50 last year.

Yep, :(

I still think it's an excellent all round service but £40 per month is really quite a lot for it.

I have the full package with HD and Multiroom so £63.50 pm from September

Then add another £50 for Prem Plus  A lot of dosh for TV.

On the other hand Sky + is great and I could not imagine not having it now, especially as my wife works shifts. She can watch what she wants when she wants.

HD was great for the World Cup while it lasted :( Still got the semis and the final to see even if England are out.

Sky have their faults but on the whole I am happy with what I get.
