Hi,

Im looking at getting this done so I can have sky+ in my room so I can watch the sport etc.
Now I know its £10pm ontop of the main subscription but do I pay another £10 ontop for the sky+ subscription?

also could I buy the sky+ box off ebay and also the quad LNB and cable or should I leave that to sky?

Also whats the difference between all these sky+ boxes and which is best of them, I dont need the 160sky box as I wont record that much?

cheers

ok whats wrong with v1 and v3 pace boxes?

Also do skyboxes support component out?

thanks

I think I will go the raven ones on ebay, what cable would you suggest for the dish to the box?

CT63 shotgun or some WF100 cable or maybe ct100?

how long is the run?

WF100 is the dogs ********, iirc its foam insulated so pretty good (less chance of water getting down etc).

Advantage of ct63 is that it'll fit through a hole where 1 bit of coax would fit before, handy if you only want one hole. Disadvantage is that its not screened as well so anything over 20m for a run and you'll come across problems.

www.satcure.co.uk is a good site with excellent service, some of their stuff is a bit on the pricey side compared to trade sources but i've ordered from them before and had the kit with me about 14-15 hours later. (don't think they're a competitor...).

Make sure to buy F connectors and self amalgamating tape too with the cable, and remember that ct63 uses smaller F connectors than normal coax.

Id say the run is about 20m may be more or less.

Its existing I'd thought, well I am gonna get me mum to upgrade to skyports pack of 1,2,3 and extra,

but thats just with standard Sky+ not the 160 which is £199 option, I surpose if sky fitted it they would use ct63 cable? or could I ask for wf100 which is what i have on my aerial cable?

thanks
