Sky Netgear DG834GT router problem

I'm with Be at the moment and had been running DGTeam firmware on an ex-Sky DG834GT without any major issues. A couple of weeks ago it kept disconnecting and reconnecting, as many times as 70 times in an hour so i've now switched back to the Thompson BeBox and all is well.

I much prefer the netgear router when it was working and was wondering if anyone knows if this is a common problem, if there is anything i can try to repair it or it is completely borked before picking up another from ebay?

There are loads of posts on this on the BE forums. I found my issues started when I was switched to ADSL2+ rather than standard ADSL2. I also run the DG834GT with DGTeam and when mine was playing up, it would last about 10secs connected at a time. As suddenly as it started, it would stop.

In the end I set my profile to 6db, forced ADSL2 connection and manually tweaked the SnR in the router. When it worked, it worked with either router, made no odds.

Thanks for replying. Not entirely sure if it's the same problem. I'm on a 6dB profile, i tried changing to 9dB, tried upping the target snr on the netgear and have always been on ADSL2+. Also the BeBox does not disconnect constantly but the netgear does.

I'll have a look at the Be forum. Thanks for the heads up.

man i cant get my bebox to stay connected on any profile for more than about 6mins... still waiting to grab a DG834GT nice and cheap
