**Deleted as im currentley argueing with SKY about what i have been sold and what they think i have been sold....**

just been speaking to some fella on the Sky online chat thing. he seems to think ive been sold the standard sky box.

Im not too chuffed as i specifically asked about the sky+ HD box and was told i was getting it. when i queried the the £30 install fee i was told that that by paying that i avoided the extra £10.25 a month that would normally be paid for the HD box. needless to say im a bit ****ed as I could have got this online for a better price. sneaky miss selling *******.

I know about the HD box but lack of HD packages...I was getting it mainly for SKY1 HD as i watch A LOT of programmes that are on that channel, and am seriously thinking about getting the knowledge pack as i watch a lot of Discovery programmes etc.

Needless to say this is a very crappy start from SKY which does not fill me with confidence, may just cancel the whole contract if they dont sort this crap out!!

seems as if the only different is you don't have the hd pack (which with ur subscription i probably wouldn't have either) and you have sky talk freetime.

breakdown would be:
Variety and Music (2 Pack): £20.50
Broadband Unlimited: £7.50
Line Rental: £11.25
Sky talk freetime: Free

Total £39.25 by my calculations unless you have some sort of offer to get £3 off which i doubt as i currently work in a sky call center.

no, no HD pack, the TV channels are just a little bonus on top of the BB and line rental.

I had no offer to get £3 off, infact i think he forgot to charge me for the music pack, but i know i have it on order as i heard him place the order over phone.

all i know is I have it in writing on the invoice for £36.50 a month

Im confused slighlty... as my contract is coming up for renewal i thought i Would go online and see what was on offer. checked what you have said and came back with the following, what have i missed because it seems i can put together a better deal than you did

Sky+ HD box
variety pack
music pack
sky umilimited boradband + free evening and weekend calls

set-up: 10 quid
first month cos: 28.25
monthly after that: 38.25 thats including SkyHD channels

did your price include the sky line rental?

also why get a sky HD box and no HD channels? might as well just get a Sky+ box unless your thinking of getting HD package in the future.

The guys you see int he shopping centres are no doubt on commision... they will do just about anything to get contracts.

but you need the HD pack just to get sky one dont you?

You have been sold the above package with a sky + box.

The £30 install fee is for the standard + box.

If you take the HD box installation is free, but you must
pay £10.25 a month for the HD pack.

There is no real point in having the HD box ( other than more storage )
without the Hd pack.

well a small update, I was indeed royally messed around on this.

2 major things here

1) I was infact sold the HD ready box BUT without the HD package which i was told i was getting. I specifically asked about HD channels you can only get with the HD pack so its not like i was mistaken between the HD box and getting the actual HD package.

2) It also turns out that the £36.50 i was told i would pay was totally wrong also an i should have been paying around £39 or so.

seems the paperwork i have signed means absolutley sod all!!

after an hour on the phone the best they could offer was 25% off my tv pack (£5 a month or so...woopdeedooo)

so as it stands I was offered the HD pack bundle (including variety, knowledge + music) unlimited BB and line rental for £45.13

Or

Standard pack (with the above) for £34.88....

Still really ****ed off about the whole situation, especially as i havent even had it installed, but in the end i went the standard pack as i do want to watch discovery and sky1 etc again....

I may regret moving from BE*
