I was thinking of getting one to watch the non BBC F1 races and Game Of Thrones on Catch up soon after it starts.

As I understand so far, I can pay for a one off day or week sports package, but for entertainment, its a fixed period rolling billing correct ?

How easy is it to unsubscribe from the entertainment pass ? (premium phone number or ?)

Any catches to be aware of ?

I understand that sports is only SD :( ?

What is the quality like, and would anyone who has one recommend it ?

You can buy passes for 1/3 months entertainment from a few places now and all account / billing can be dealt with online . Just cancel as soon as the pass is applied and no need to worry.

It's very good for the price but limited to 720p.

We have the entertainment contract to watch Game of Thrones, Scandal, Walking Dead etc.

Easy enough to cancel just go online.

I just noticed I can get the app on the XB1, so no need to buy a box even :)
I presume sports isn't 720p whatever you watch it on ?

As I don't like my XB having payment details, can you buy passes that use codes like Gold/MS points ?

The boxes are a bit pants. But often they are bundled with some free passes so buy them for that and throw the box away.

Beware of the day passes for F1. As Qualifying and the race often start at the same time each day you won't be able to watch both with a single 24 hour pass.

Look for discounted box and voucher packages, cheapest way to get what you want.
I've found movies very good , sport is expensive,
If you have a Chromecast you may still be able to get 3 months entertainment free.

Edit: the box is fine for what it has to do .

I have 3 of these now and am currently paying for the monthly films pass which has proved to be great over the Christmas periods.

As for the boxes themselves, I'm impressed, ok they may 'only' be 720p but thats' fine by me. I have sideloaded Plex onto all three and am really pleased with them

The picture quality is good and it passes every audio I've thrown at it to my amp without any problems at all. All in all a great little box for £9.99!!

I find picture quality perfectly acceptable.
I paid £15 for a box and 3 months movies.
This deal is not available now but may well come up again.

Are the shows released as soon as they are shown in the UK or do you have you watch it live and/or download it on catch up?

I'm specifically looking at Walking dead and GoT, as this may give us a good reason to leave Sky then.

if your getting a 3 month pass you cancel within 30 days of renewal, or you will lose for things you've paid for early by doing it straight away

Resurrecting the thread in case anyone else has similar questions.
I bought a box bundle with 6 months entertainment pass.
I can say not impressed with the box, no 5G wireless, and doesn't like channel above 10 on wireless once updated.
PQ not that good, buffering even on my very fast broadband is too common, it hogs a load of bandwith too.
But ... the purchase was worth it for the saving on 6 months entertainment pass alone, so I watch it through my XBone now and PQ is better and so far no buffering ;)

I've been thinking about Now TV due to Game of Thrones. The folks have Sky and therefore I might be able to use Sky Go. However, Sky Go won't work on a PS3, which is what I'd ideally be streaming via (You need 'Sky Go Extra' for for it to work on a PS3 which costs £5 per month).

Sky Go doesn't currently work on Chromecast either (as far as I know) which leaves me with Now TV which works on both the PS3 and Chromecast. This page suggests the free Entertainment package might still be active but I've not checked:
