I'm looking to move broadband and it seems sensible to go with Sky (with a TV bundle), Virgin (TV, phone) or O2 (cheap because I have an O2 mobile).

Which of these is the best internet provider? 8gb is fine (although the faster the better of course) and low latency is important for the few times I get a chance to game nowadays.

O2 as long as you can get them on LLU

Been with them for more than a few months now, and no issues.
And I think gurusan has been with BE/O2 for a few years now again with no real issues.

O2 if you can get them, out and out the best broadband provider but if you can't then get Sky, I work for them and although you may find the customer service isn't always up to scratch but the actual product is amazing, I would recommend getting a full bundle with them though as the price of the broadrband will be going up by £5 in march if you don't have telephone with them.

8gb might be a bit optimistic ;)

Honestly, all of them are able to provide both good service.

Sky used to have a bad rep and a get what you pay for service (i.e. cheap and poor). But they seem fairly decent now, unlimited, and if you're paying subs for TV their TV service is probably better than Virgins.

Virgins use of cable puts them in a better position to provide consistent service, and if you go for a package deal with their TV and phone it can be had for a reasonable price. But you have to put up with their traffic management, potential throttling if you go over their limits at different times of the day, along with the possibility of application management and Phorm.

o2 historically have provided a good service thanks to them owning Be. But they've taken on lots of new customers in recent months and that's led to capacity issues in some areas, resulting in high pings and poor service for some customers.

Personally I moved from Virgin to o2 a few months ago, and for me that was a good choice - I'm not affected by the capacity issues.
