I've been curious about this for a while now. We have a Sky+ subscription in the living room and i have my xbox upstairs. If i want to use sky player on my xbox do i have to pay anything? Do I have to pay a multi room subscription?

Any help would be good :)

I believe for streaming you need multi room or broadband. You should be able to get the on demand stuff without either though.

I only have Sky TV, but have all the channels bar movies and pay something like £40/month. Virgin Internet and phone though. So could i just get the basic freeview channels then?

I assume you dont have xbox live gold? Cos you could try it out now and see what happens if you do have it. Otherwise, source out a freebie 48hr code and it should give you access to it, then you can see what you get if you where to pay for Gold.

Of course i have gold, its just my dad pays the Sky subscription and dont want anything added to this months bill.

What do i need to set up sky player?

You act like it's mandatory to have gold, I don't :)

It won't just add to the bill, it would have to ask you first if you want to pay for any subscription, well it bloody well should do?

I have all channels and multiroom, so it's all free for me so can;t be sure, but I think you are safe to install it.

Go to your xbox dashboard, and Sky Player will be under the video marketplace category I think. Install it once and then select it from there again to boot it up everytime.

I just tried to watch sky player on my PC and it lets me log in and then says please upgrade your package and have sky broadband or sky multi room or something along those lines :(

If I move my xbox to someone elses house, does it still work? I'd be using the sky subscription from the original location.

It should be free if you have Sky at home, **** stupid that you have to PAY extra again for a gold account then some kind of extra account with Sky to watch it in a different room, they can screw themselves.

And that would be why you're not running a business :).
