hi

I've just had sky Q installed and had to pick up a new amp , I've set the sky Q resolution to 3840 x 2160 all the Chanel's are now displaying this resolution is this correct ?

I thought the standard sky Channels would display 1080i ?

Cheers

Yeah seems that way , just tried Netflix on the TV app and that displays in all the right resolutions 480/1080/4K , just need to sort the lip sync now !!!

Its a known sky Q issue, there is no "Auto" scaling feature.

If you set your Sky Q to 2160 it will upscale content and output everything at 2160 on every channel, but will already be set to that resolution when you want to watch UHD content.

Only other option is to manually set Sky Q to 1080P (IMHO produces better PQ than leaving it on 1080i, and I know Sky only broadcast at 1080i but to me personally it looks sharper and more defined) for normal channels and let your TV upscale if you think the TV does a better job at up-scaling, and then manually set Sky Q to 2160 for watching UHD content.

Personally I set my Sky Q to 2160 the moment i got a 4k tv and have left it there.

That really depends what is the better de-interlacer, the sky box or your TV.

Well to me, my Sky Q does a better job than my G6, have tried often with different material (films sport TV shows), and to me the box does a better job.

But yes I agree it is personal and others may have different views, and opinions.
