Hi

We currently have 2 Sky+ HD boxes. Our package doesn't include any of the sports of movie packages. However we're on the older HD pack which includes Sky Sports F1 HD. In about a month we'll be moving house. We enquired about getting the system transferred to the new house (no dish there at the moment) and they mentioned that we could upgrade to Sky Q as part of the move.

Does anyone know if we decide to go ahead with the upgrade if we will still get the F1 channel as part of the pack?

Thanks

The old HD Pack is no longer valid and you’ll need to change to a new pack AFAIK but I’ve been non customer facing for a few months now. Let me ask someone in the know.

That's what I thought. I've seen people mention on a couple of other forums that they were able to migrate over to Q and keep F1 but they were a year or so ago

You can keep the legacy pack mate, the rep willtry and move you across to entertainment, but if youre happy with the price then keep what youre on.

Thanks. Been thinking it over and I think we’ll just stick with the sky+HD boxes anyway. Both our boxes are currently used by different people with different tastes so just don’t want or need the whole room sharing aspect of Q. If we could just get 4K capable versions of the +HD boxes we’d gladly upgrade to that instead.

This is what really bugs me about sky Q

Are living room sky+ box just gets completely filled with crap (kids programs & soaps etc) so I no really want multi sky boxes that has shared recording..

doesn't this come down to just cost ? as opposed to there is something inferior about q to support current viewing use ?

sky +hd box reliability - higher install costs for multi-lnb dish&wiring - vs.
younger (more reliable) Q product with some additional flexibility, and, if you bargain right, similar package pricing.

It is bonkers that they've still not added user accounts or some means of separating content, after nearly four years!

The system works superbly for me with two mini boxes but that's because I'm the only person in the house so the whole record/watch anywhere is really useful. For anyone with kids who wants to keep stuff separate though, I can image it'd be a big problem.
