Hi guys,

Has anyone had joy setting this up without a Sky router?

It has an Ethernet port so I plugged it straight into my router, I can log onto it but the Connection Status: Not Connected, presumably as you need to connect it to your WIFI. That's not a problem however what has been suggested doesn't work, plug my laptop straight into the booster and then go to skywirelessbooster.local to configure it and connect it to my WIFI, the page cannot be displayed.

Any ideas?

A bit of a bump, so I have this working to some extent but how the hell do you get the SSID to replicate that of your home network? I don't want a separate network for this booster, any ideas?

Looking at the Sky site it seems incredibly limited on what you can change with it, and is more designed to be used with Sky services.

Honestly you're better buying your own extender/access point so you have more control over it. What is the main reason for using it? And in your first post, you use you initially connected it to your router via cable, does that mean you already have a cable running from the router to where you want the extender to be?
