In the house we have the main Sky router, the Sky Q silver box, 2 miniboxes, and a Sky extender as well. We seem to get random wireless drop outs around the house on a regular basis, to the point where I can't ping the router, e.g.

For an example of what seems to be happening. It causes drop-outs on the miniboxes as well as various smart devices to stop responding etc. Can be very frustrating when you're asking Google Home to turn off the lights... (I know, first world problems!).

When I use the Apple airport utility, my wireless SSID is being broadcast by all of the separate Sky devices, but at least on the 2.4Ghz version there are lots of different channels being used - e.g. 1, 6, 11. Shouldn't they all be broadcasting the SSID on the same channel?

Anything I should be looking out for to try next to fix this issue?

Had a similar issue on my Sky Q but only affected Apple devices.

Have you seperated the Wireless Networks instead of utilising Mesh? Like.... SSID Name 2.4Ghz & SSID Name 5Ghz?

Thanks - I have split the networks now and will see how that goes. Touch wood, it seems better so far!

You might find devices on the 5Ghz network lose range easier and it doesn't penetrate walls as good so I would recommend having your Miniboxes on the 2.4Ghz Network. Some Apple devices also struggle with 5Ghz so put them on the 2.4Ghz (if you have them).

I would use a Wireless checker to see what channels the 2.4Ghz networks are on and seperate them into the least used channel or leave on auto and see how that goes as they normally adjust dynamically depending on the environment.
