sky ready?

I got a letter today saying my house is now sky ready someone comes round fits sky face plate in etc anyone had this done?
faceplate which enables you to connect your standard sky boc to the communal digital satellite system without the need for your own minidish

there is they say i need a faceplate ask my caretaker etc but he aint around atm can i but these faceplates and fit them myself?
