Hi,

I'm looking at switching my services back to Sky from BT as BT have messed me around a lot over the last few weeks (non-broadband related but the best deals all come if you take the full package).

I've never been hugely impressed with BT's Home Hub and from what I gather Sky's is even worse (not even Gigabit!) so if I do switch I'd want to get a replacement.

Any suggestions on something with Gigabit ports and half-decent wifi? Only got a TV and phones connected via Wi-fi and the TV's about 3m away in the next room (still found the BT HH5 drops out too often though).

Thanks!

The speed of the router's LAN ports makes zero difference if you use a gigabit switch, the connection won't ever exceed 100mbit on that hardware (technical limit of VDSL spec) so it's only LAN based transfers that would suffer.

I've got a fileserver and a couple of other bits wired in to a network that I do a fair bit of transferring between so running at 1/10 my current speed would suck. A lot.
