Sky Router custom firmware question.

Some time ago I had to flash my sky router with a custom firmware as my connection was constantly dropping. Flashing the firmware helped but recently I'm getting really poor connection speeds and I want to go back to the default firmware.

If I factory reset the router will this set it back to the default firmware? If not how do I go about doing it?

Cheers

Perhaps it's just your connection that's bad and not an issue with the router.

Plug modem into test socket and see if the problem persists.

Post your line stats as they stand and when in test socket if you like.

To go back to default firmware you'd need to flash it with the relevant firmware version you overwrote with the custom one.

I managed to upgrade the firmware to the latest custom firmware, I'm still getting a few disconnects that happen for about 30 seconds. The router stats are here:

The stats posted look ok to me, apart from the WAN time not matching the LAN time anyway.

Your attenuation looks about right for your line speed, although it might be a Meg faster given you don't get the disconnections.

Did you try in the test socket at all?

Are disconnections following a pattern? Like when it's damp, cold or at a certain time of day. When you have an incoming or outgoing phone call perhaps?

I didn't try in the test socket, it's across the other side of the house so I'm really not able to. But I've used this connection point for YEARS and never had any issues. Only recently moved over to Sky and it's just been awful.

I can't say they follow a pattern, it just seems to DC when ever it pleases.

I've got custom firmware on the router at the moment and I'm trying to get it into recovery mode so that I can go back to the stock firmware.

Holding the reset button for 15 seconds just doesn't do anything.
