Sky router upgrade

I've got the older sky router and want to replace it with something that will improve my wifi experience. When copying large files from my laptop to the pc upstairs the transfer speed is pitiful. I usually now connect the computers with a network cable which makes it so much faster.

Anyway, I don't really want to spend too much (£40-50?) but it needs to be an improvement on what I currently have. There is a lot of traffic now as the kids have 2 tablets, the wife's ipad and my 2 computers as well as smartphones.

Any guidance appreciated!

Because your on sky you might struggle to get a new router to sync with sky's network especialy with it switching from PPoA to MER, you might want to try to get sky to send you one of their Hubs which arnt too bad
