Sky router user name & password

I am trying to access my Sky router(SR101) but for some reason it does not accept the user name & password supplied by sky. I called sky they said the router must be broken they can't help as the router is out of warranty....

So by the looks of it your looking at 2 separate usernames and passwords, the link you have given is how to get your Sky Broadband username and password this is only used for the router connecting to the internet and nothing else. Sky dont give this out hence the wireshark approach. I suspect you want the login details for your routers web access have you tried username : admin password sky ?
Try resetting the router with a pin at the back and trying again?

Yes i want to access the router so i can disable upnp I type the I.P in my web browser: 192.168.0.1

Username: admin
Password: sky
I have ever tried resetting no luck. Im only one monthy over my warranty cheeky gits are trying to sell me the £70+ V2 router...

Tell sky you are cancelling your account with this them and going to virgin because they will give you a free router, watch them send you one.

When you type 192.168.0.1 what happens? Do you get a Google/bing search page? If so try clicking the link below:

Http://192.168.0.1 and you should get there. Username admin password sky all lower case.

I get to the sky router page I then click security or any other option it then asked for user name and password. I type it in, in lowers case and nothing happens...

Tried that they didn't seem to care lol

Edit: Spoke to new advisor she tried to sell me the router for £39 instead of £75 I told her the router is crap and its not worth £39, in the end I managed to get my broadband free for year I only have to pay for line rental

Which one would you recommend for 9mbs connection not using wireless much I just need 3-4 ethernet ports.

If you aren't too bothered about the wireless you may as well stick with what you have.

In which case it's a lot cheaper to just buy a Gigabit switch.

I'm not really well versed when it comes to routers would any ADSL modem/router work or do sky have some requirements?

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure it's purely down to your Router? I've had customers call in about port forwarding for all sorts of stuff and NAT types from Portman to King Cole to Strict and Moderate and Open. Every time I've told them to reset the network settings, reset the router and it's been fine. I know the game just came out but do you know of anyone else having trouble? How do you KNOW it's down to the Sky Router because believe me it isn't that advanced.

Yes its the Sky Router after spending ages opening all the ports putting my PS4 in DMZ, I checked the Pes Fan forums and a lot of people who are with Sky are having the same issues. :mad:

No. Just stating that replacing a router just to get Gigabit isn't the cheapest option. I was replying to your post, not the OP's.

For the OP a properly working ISP router would seem to be a perfectly good solution.

have you tried a different browser, i had chrome play up at one point and couldnt access the router with "admin/password"

Thank you all for the help I worked out what the issue was...rather embarrassing lol, I didn't know you had to hold down the reset button for more than 10 seconds for it to reset. :eek:
