Sky signal problems

My signal went completely before Christmas which turned out to be all the connectors had corroded at the lnb and the dish had moved slightly.

Bought a new lnb and a digital sat finder but I keep getting No signal error 25 messages on certain a sky channels (sky 1, Atlantic etc) but some paid channels do work (Discovery, MTV music)

I've tested the signal at the lmb and from the connections at the box and it's almost 95% signal and 73% quality - can't get it any better than this.

I've also tried a known working sky box.

The coax's go through a triax multiswitch.

Anything else I should be trying?

You could probably have had a sky engineer for the cost and time of all this messing about? £65 default price buy have a moan and likely he offered it for £30.
Likely the LNB itself is faulty. If its at all no longer watertight then it'll be corroded inside.

It's a brand new lnb as you're right the old one was corroded inside.

It's showing a good signal right through to the box on the sat finders and sky's own signal checker

There is no sky engineers where I live remote Scottish Highlands but there is other contractors but I quite like trying to solve these sorts of problems

I'm assuming you're using a Sky minidish (Zone 2 for Scotland)? Was the replacement LNB also a Sky branded one with an oval cone?

You may have also knocked it out of alignment so will need to be re-aligned which is simple to do if you have the signal monitor on hand. Check http://www.dishpointer.com to find out where it needs to point. The LNB skew will also need to be checked as it can make a bigger difference in poor signal areas. For note MTV Music is on 2G which will have a slightly stronger signal than Sky One (Astra 2E).

It's a sky mini dish which worked before and this LNB

I've realigned the dish and the skew of the LNB using the Satlink.
Maybe thinking 73% quality isn't good enough?

You'll need ~85% (~95% to compensate for heavy rain). Some tuners will lock with lower but at that point it won't be watchable anyway. You should try turning the LNB, see if it improves slightly and then gently nudge the dish in different directions to see if it improves further.
