Sky Soundbox - Anyone interested/got one?

What are peoples thoughts on one of these? Or better alternatives?

They're £250 or £300 depending on your sub. £800 (!) for non Sky customers.

How generous of Sky to give their customers such a great deal on a soundbar... which isn't a soundbar because it's too big to fit under most peoples' TVs.

Is this their fix for the sky q volume level bring so damn quiet

Not for me , i am sticking with my Sony HT XT3

I haven't heard one, but apparently they sound fantastic. Some have heard them in pre-production and say they sound amazing and some fo the Hi-Fi sites have been granted a pre-release listen and they also say it sounds very good. Made on conjunction with French company Devialet who make some very high end speakers that are rated very well. I may get one next year when they become available on monthly pay to Sky staff, but I'm a little wary it'll be any better than the full 5.1 setup I currently have.

No sound bar will ever be better then a 5.1 setup.
