Sky Stats, some one tell me if they are ok?

ok brilliant, must be something internally.......

Pcs keep failing to pick up a ip address.

On which planet would there be a connection between line stats and DHCP allocation on your router? I suppose being picky.. if the line stats were awful and the CPU in the router was working double time error check/correct then it might drop a few DHCP requests from to time - but the chance of that happening? I've no idea, I've just made it up.

This is the worst "I have a 14mb/0.9mb ADSL connection" thread ever.

nice answer thanks your help, NOT.

not being computer literate i asked the question and got a good answer first time. After his/her answer i can see its a internal problem more like the router.

As for the twoddle you talk i really have no idea what your on about. You obviously have nothing better to do with your evening you sad little troll.

In future if you cant make a nice comment then dont comment at all.

But thanks anyway for all your helpful comments.

lol, i love OCUK forums.

Do you have any device on the network running DHCP?

Check to make sure the router has a DHCP range configured then from command prompt on the pc's type in ipconfig /renew.

Not everyone is even aware what DHCP is, let alone how to go about configuring it.

looks like you could gain a little bit more speed, sky bb should have a noise margin of 7db and yours is 8.7db. you should ask them to set it at 7db

im not to worried about the speed guys as my sisters just use it for surfing and email....

The computers are connected via lan cables and their iphones are via wireless.

What keeps happening is the connected deviices loose there ip addresses given out out by the router.

i think

Sounds a broken router if that is the case. Can you do a reset on the Sky ones? How old is the router?

its a old uk online line that has been stable with a 834gt for years and years.......sky took it over.

routers about 3-4 months old. Ive reset it several times......
