Are these stats any good?

Good in what sense?

The noise margin is at the reccomended minimum level for a stable connection. Noise margin fluctuates a bit and and if it drops much below 6db your connection may well drop out. Your noise margin is quite low given your line attenuation and sync speed though - I can sync at 8096kb with a 9.8db noise margin on a line with 36db attenuation.

If it's stable, it's as quick as you're going to get on your line unless you can improve things by plugging directly into the master or test socket. If its not stable, you'll probably need to lower the sync speed a touch to bring the noise margin up so its above 6db all the time.

It's got nothing to do with Sky either.

This man speaks the truth ;)

Your upstream connection speed of 448kbps suggests your with Sky on their Connect Package?

This would mean that Sky are providing your broadband service through BT's equipment in a BT exchange.

I used to plug my router into a poorly wired extension socket. This resulted in poor sync speeds, so i went and bought a high quality microfilter(not a cheap 50p one, i paid around £8 for it) and plugged it into the master socket and i got much better speeds.

deleted/edited post due to wine consumption! sorry for the below response tolien, what was meant to be said was the line attenuation should yeild over 8mb on an LLU but other factors needed to be taken into account but considering this is nearly 8mb on a 34 attenuation is good although the noise appears low.

What part is that directed at?

Your attenuation and SNR margin aren't affected by Sky whether you're connected to a Sky DSLAM or a BT Wholesale one, and 448kbps upstream is what you get with IPStream Max.

I take it you have a Netgear DG834GT router. If so try putting the ubergt firmware on it.

Then go into the ubergt part at the bottom and alter the Target SNR percentage this should increase your speed a little.
