Hi There,

I've done a search and couldn't find a relevant topic so thought i'd go ahead and ask the question.

MY Current Situation:

Sky Box Downstairs connected to TV.
Sky can be 'tuned' into on every other TV in the house due to the way the aerial was wired.

So i have sky set on channel 6 on my TV, but i would like to be able to change the channels from upstairs aswell. I saw a product the other day called SKY TV-Link with Remote Control for £30 - could anyone explain how this is done?

Another question would be, they have just the tv-link itself for £14.99 without the remote control, is there any way i could link up my Philips SRU 740 (4 in 1 remote) to control this?

Many thanks :)

Well, depending on how your aerial distribution is setup the TV Link will either work or not work.

If you can find a local aerial/satellite trade counter then you can pick up remotes and TV links for less than £30 too.

I ordered the TV link for £4.40 delivered, and will see if my Philips SRU 740 will work with it. If not i'll purchase a Sky remote from somewhere :)

Will report back :)

If you can recieve it in every room, then the chances are it's fed through a distribution amplifier. Whether or not this amplifier is TV-Link compatible will determine whether it'll work or not. You also need to be using the RF2 output on the box, and make sure the 9V supply is on (in the services menu).

www.satcure.co.uk has a lot of useful information.
