Reasonably sure this a huge no but thought I would ask for any work arounds. I get why Sky dont want you to be able to cast Sky Go yo TVs for obvious reasons but I have a Sky subscription and Sky Go im not trying to pull a fast one or deny them any cash. I just want to be able to watch the football on my Meta Quest on a giant screen as I did with the Arsenal game in midweek as it was on Prime. I have read that you cant get the Sky Go app to work even by sideloading the Android app directly to the Quest and I unsuccessfully tried Virtual Desktop today from my Macbook to the Quest but as soon as I opened a channel that was a no-no too.

Is there any way of legally doing this or is it just a case of IPTV and sod Sky?

Can you load into the Sky App on the Oculus Browser?
Anecdotally no I dont believe you can but I haven't tried it personally. The reading around it that Ive done suggested Virtual Destop which I had anyway but it doesn't work for the Sky Go app on the laptop. the Sky Go app now no longer works on desktop machines either it would seem, presumably because people have quite large monitors now. Sky seem to be clamping down on this. What's annoying is that im not trying to avoid paying a subscription or get it cheaper - I already pay for it, I just want to use it to create a big screen as I can do with other platforms.

Thanks for the replies everyone. A capture card may work but I dont really want to spend any money unless someone has first hand experience of it working! Steam Link I would assume (although I have no real insight) have the same issue with DRM as Virtual Desktop and would be blocked by Sky?

Its irritating!

Ironically Meta have just relaunched their Horizon TV app but it only has Prime and Disney+ as significant channels. No Sky, unfortunately.

Can confirm steam link doesn't work, tried it last night. I've never seen DRM like this before it's very clever (annoyingly so)

Sky go will still be playing on desktop in a window but on the quest it's just a black rectangle

I still am using sky go on my PC though so currently it's working on desktop.

from a technical view, vm with android, with gpu pass through and capture card on the quest to stream the content.
the capture card is around £20-35 depending were you shop
and i also use it for gaming as well as for work purposes so i feel like ive already had my £20 of it.
get the one with power pass through as well
