Hey all,

Looking at getting Sky+ at home and going for the multiroom option to wave the £60 install fee, was wondering if and how I could go about connecting my old Sky box to my PC in my room so I can watch/record TV on there too?

Thanks for your help

I am trying this myself at the moment for the same reason (want multi-room box to output to my PC so I can record and watch on my 19" wide TFT.)

So far connecting the Sky box to my X1800XT via composite hasn't worked, I am thinking that an analogue TV card might be my only hope.

I use an analogue TV card which works nicely for doing exactly this. I also invested in a "link" as the sky box is in my bedroom, but the PCs are all in a computer room next door. Allows me to watch TV in my room and in the computer room at the same time and switch channels from either place.

Link was £20 and the TV card £30.

Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1100 Freeview TV Tuner (GX-025-HA) at £42.95 (£50.47 Including VAT at 17.5%) seems to be a good one to go for

Aye it does, might buy that one then.

Anyone here who uses this that can tell us how good it is?
