I downloaded it and seems pretty good, all I need to do is grab my dads subscription details and i'll be able to use it. It'd be quite nice to have sky upstairs. I'm just wondering whether or not our internet connection will get throttled due to the bandwidth usage during peak times.

I don't know if I'm missing something but I loaded it 2 nights ago and it's asking for me to suscribe even though I have multi room.

Seems extremely good IF you have Movies and multiroom. The choice of movies is massive. May have to steal my brothers friends dads (thats long!) details for this!

Hmm weird, I downloaded the Sky Player, put in all my details and created a new Sky ID. Whenever I go to any channel it says I need a subscription?I understand for the sports because I don't have it, but I should still get Gold etc? I have Sky Unlim broadband and Sky..

I'm absolutely loving this. We already have the full Sky package, including multiroom, so get all channels etc. For me, the selection is perfect. Any movie I could want to watch, along with all the documentaries I love watching too.

Only problem I have with it is the buffering system. My connection is not the best (living so far up north, it's not gonna be) so I don't seem to be able to get through anything smoothly.

For those wondering about being asked for a subscription etc, but who already have Sky, if you don't have multiroom, you do have to pay something.

Pity the quality is a bit rubbish. Not bad for streaming, but still could be a lot better like Netflix or something in the US. Looks like downloaded DVD rip quality.

so whats the bandwidth useage like ? im thinking of getting it for the "games room" , will it take a lot off my 5mb connection ? i dont want to be lagging in COD waw/mw2 when the kids are watching sky on the xbox

It will very likely cause you some lag. The content I've seen so far ranges from a few hundred MB to just a smidge under a GB. This would obviously buffer as quickly as your bandwidth would allow, very likely using as much as it can get it's hands on.

I was under the impression that you wouldn't get live streaming if you don't have a multiroom subscription - is that right? I've signed in with a mates ID who doesn't have a 360 who has sports but not a multiroom subscription and its allowing me to view the Sky Sports channels. When I go to movies, it prompts to upgrade.

You get a 1 month free trial - after which you must either get multi-room or pay the monthly charge for the sky player on your xbox.

There is a code for 1 month free which is SKYXBOX1MTH which I haven't used, well certainly haven't enetered? I watched the Ireland match last night, just interested to know what I can expect from now on really.

it also mirrors your sky subscription..so if he doesnt have the movie channels you wont be able to view them live

I have a sky TV subscription to the 6 picks but with no movies or sport and no multiroom and no sky broadband

I cannot get live screening but can get on demand stuff from all my normal channels such as sky one

I've got multiroom and all the channels and I think the sky player is pretty awesome. Especially the on demand channel, can watch any movie on there when I want, and the quality is pretty darn good to. Watched many things on there so far and its not had to buffer once.
