Thousands of Sky HD customers including me have had there sky boxes messed up tonight with a corrupted update.

When trying to browse anytime TV the box resets, this is not your box its the update from SKY!

A full reset is the only way to solve this until sky release a fix ive lost all of my recordings on one box and of course anytime is reset and needs to redownload now.Ive done a full reset on one of my boxes which has delted all of my recordings and reset anytime tv to redownload,im wating for the fix for my other box and just cant access anytime tv downstairs now until its fixed.

After reading the forum Digital spy, people have spoken to sky tonight and the only way to fix this is to do a full system reset and disable anytime TV for the time being or wait for a fix from sky.

Apparently rebuilding the planner will not fix this

Here is one thread im sure there are many more on other forums:
http://www.digitalspy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1354039

Update: Even after reseting my box which of course deletes anytime TV and the planner the problem is still not solved,it looks like when anytime tv is deleted and redownloads once its accessed again the box still freezes so it looks like the only fix is for SKY to release a patch that actually works this time

So guys just disable Anytime TV for the time being and all will be ok with your box until SKY sort this

DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE AND DO A FULL RESET AND LOSE ALL YOUR RECORDINGS WHEN ANYTIME REDOWNLOADS YOU WILL STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE

yeah, affected here also. only got sky HD on wednesday, so when it started crashing whilst trying to use anytime i thought my box was knackered.

the solution that has worked for me was to disable anytime until sky's faulty update gets a patch.

some good advice over here http://www.avforums.com/forums/sky-hd-sky-3d/1326044-skyanytime-crashing-rebooting-hd-box.html

funnily, disabling anytime has now let me start using the season link function which had been playing up all saturday until the box started crashing from the update

Any info on the update anywhere ?

No SKY havent even admitted or advertised they have a problem with this yet which is a complete joke tbh.

This has been a problem since yesterday evening for some people

No online help via sky remote: closed till monday apparently?

Phone lines automated message saying they are busy and to check website for help on anytime issues

No messages on web site explaining the situation

SKY service status : There are currently no issues affecting this service. ???????

http://pulse.sky.com/

Its seems some people have had success getting anytime to run now?

I cant check as my boxes have been reset so anytime TV is blank

Is anyone brave enough to check? :)

This is a post from another forum a few minutes ago:

Called them again this morning to make my anger at them known, recorded message refers you to sky status - checks this while on hold and it states no issues.

Adviser said only way currently to "fix" the issue was a full system reset - something I will not be doing! Asked about why the status page is still showing no issues he said he would pass it on to his superviser, I asked to be transfered to the superviser and again made my feelings know - he said he had emailed the status team in regards to this and also said customers who wish to have a refund will be entitled to "loss of viewing" compensation but can only ask for this once the problem has been fixed.

Fix time has now moved from 24hrs given yesterday to 72hrs from today.

what sort of company releases an update on a saturday, when the support staff who issued the update are off for the weekend. glad i dont work there anymore..

i can confirm after my boxes have been reset and anytime tv is redownloaded i have 1 program in anytime tv now and i can access it without the freezing and box reseting.

At last something positive my software hasnt changed mind still there same version?

There is an update coming down tonight but for anyone wanting it fixed today, do the following;

1. turn on sky
2. Press "services"
3. hit select on "options"
4. scroll to "customise"
5. move down to "enable anytime" and select "off", confirm selection by pressing "select"
6. Press the green button to save options.
7. Place sky box in standby and unplug from wall.
8. plug back in, reboot the box redo steps 1-6 but selecting "on" to re enable anytime"

Thats it, no need to reboot after enabling it.

*this post is just for people wanting to know what to do, not hunt it down, and not wanting to full reset and loose everything :), its not my own fathoming, and i take no credit for it :)

From the sound of it, the problem isnt a software update.. its the lack of a software update.

Sky appears to have changed the data format for Anytime, in preparation for Anytime+. Unforunately as soon as one or two of the new format programs are in your anytime list, any STB without the firmware that Sky have NOT yet sent out will crash, or reboot.

If you can resist the temptation of hitting the anytime button, then for most boxes the normal planner and TV channels should be ok, and with a bit of luck once we get the newest software updates, the programs already in anytime will probably work again.

Otherwise, disable anytime, you'll lose the anytime programming, but your sky+ planner recordings should be fine. BTW, DONT turn anytime back on again, I did, and as soon as a few programs were available, the box went back into crash/reset mode. We need a software update to access "new" anytime recordings.

There is no need to do a full system reset at the time being.

Phew, mine kept crashing, although did notice it was on anytime happy my box isn't broken after all.

My Pace HD box appears to be working as it should with anytime/planner, but my parents Samsung box keeps crashing whenever anytime is used.

This is a known problem apparently it started happening at about 18:00 last night, SKY are apparently being inundated with calls because of it.

Been pinned down to this version of EPG software.

EPG Software Version sk+9.10.13a

Sorry if this is out of order but more info can be found at the avforums look under the sky hd area.

Please dont ban me for the above it is for information that is affecting most people with HD boxes.

ah so thats what was causing my boxes picture to freeze after 5 seconds (sound still active) and then you change the channel and the exact thing happened lol, i just reset the box and no further problems.
