My router arrived on saturday and net should be being activated today. I connected it and picked up are wireless connection from it after entering the network key (7 letters)

When i put in 192.168.0.1 I get to a screen for username and password to access 'DSL router' however these are not provided anywhere by sky.

Is it possible to get into this to change the network key or do they do it so you cant mess with settings?

I have tried admin/administrator and usual passwords like 0000, 1234, 9999, administrator, password, aswell as the username they gave me in a letter for my sky active username and a password for sky active they gave me

thanks. dont think ill bother changing anything but its nice to know i can get into it anyway. There is no username and password on the router, just a sticker with network key, ssid and something else.

Its a Sagem wireless router, i thought Sky use Netgear 834gt usually?

if your on the new black router its either a sagem or netgear, both the same spec.

The router username and pass is hidden in the firmware. So not available outright but can be had easily if needed by other means.

Its admin and sky

As I thought, the line still isnt active. I rang BB support yesterday and a woman told me it said 'pending' and to ring again if it wasnt working by midnight.

Im going to try and borrow a phone from work today because I have a strange feeling that our phone line isnt active at all. We are on a ground floor flat and there is one phone port that goes to about 10 wires hanging out the wall on the other side. When I asked sky they said we had a phone line but it wasnt active, once its active the BB can obviously go ahead.

I think they have activated it somewhere in the house, but not the ground floor. I explained there were 4 tennants in our building about 5 times and we were on the groud floor. Obviously the usual Sky person doesnt know things like this or even what to do when i tell them, they just say the number 0113 ******* is active. Great, that could be upstairs!!
