Hi there,

I have a sky dish on the side of my house from the previous owner and I was wondering:

If I bought a sky box would I be able to get like freeview channels for free? Or do i need a subscription

You would get the FTA channels. These are (approx) All BBC Channels, Poss ITV, other random channels.

For a one off £20 you can buy an FTV card that'll get you Channel 4, five and others.

You might want to see if you can get a freesat from Sky box/viewing card without purchasing the minidish. You get quite a lot of channels then - a lot of them are rubbish but there are some gems - and there's no subscription

A freesat card is approx 20quid, if you have adish already etc.....

They quote 150odd channels for free. worth it, tbh

Don't think you can get the package withou the minidish (full package is £150). Best bet is to look for a Digibox on ebay and buy the FTV card from Sky for £20.
