I am really struggling with this,

I have uploaded all my photos to Skydrive, but they do not appear in the Metro app, Skydrive section it just says there aren't any. I've checked that I am signed in.

Do they need to uploaded in a particular way?

They should appear pretty much instantly. Can you see them via the web interface?

yes, they do show in web interface

When logged into the skydrive web interface, is the folder with the images marked as a Pictures folder? If not, and it's marked as a Document folder, the metro app doesn't use the photos.
