Hi peeps,

Im getting SkyHD soon and plugging it into my new HD monitor (not tv), so it doesnt have any speakers on it. The sky box has a digital audio out port on it so im after a decent set of 2.1 speakers with digital in on them. I have little experience buying speakers, been using headphones for years so I could do with some advice.

Cheers :)

Yes budget please, I could easilly go to well over 10k on just an amplifier/processor :) (Lexicon/Meridian etc.) :)

I suppose it depends what else you might want to do.

Most if not all recent modern amplifers will have a digital input either over optical or coaxial, or both, so all that remains is to add a decent set of speakers.

If you were also looking to be able to hook up more devices you could also look at an AV processor/reciever, Denon and Yamaha have a few reasonably good offerings for around the £500 mark that deal with HD pretty well.

As for speakersI would perosnally also probably just go for a decent set of standmount or floorstanders and forget about a sub as you would probably get more gratification from two good quality speakers.

Also might just be worth considering is Sky HD really worth what it costs at the moment, last time I checked I could count the number of true HD broadcasts on both hands.
