SkyHD - Whats the difference between Thompson and Pace Box?

I am one of those owners, original (4) Thompson with component, never had a single issue. Crashes perhaps once every 3-4 months and is used heavily.

I dont know why people worry though, if the box goes funny the absolute worst case is £65 for a callout and a swap for another box.

Component outputs are extremely useful for some peole too. I'm sure many people would argue the callout charge, not worth £65 imo even if factoring in van costs and all that palarva.

Worth it for the sake of getting a new box to replace a broken miles out of warranty bit of kit though As i say though, ive never paid or heard of anyone irl who has had to actually pay for the callout before once they argue the case.

Not having the component wouldn't be the end of the world for me, i currently have my box fed to 3 display devices, a bedroom plasma & Lounge Projector via an HDMI 2-way splitter, and a lounge plasma via component. Having a new box would require me to get another HDMI splitter i guess.

to be honest im happy to put up with the random crashes every few months in order to have the component outs on mine. makes it very handy for recording HD
