It would be interesting to see how these chips are doing and what there capable of so if you'd like to post your results here.
Simple test to keep a standard, Cinebench R15 X45 multi at lowest vcore possible and max frequency attainable, also VID would be good to.

So for example

6700K CR15@ 1.31v, max 4.9ghz @ 1.42v, vid 1.18v

So i take it Ian that binned chips will go in your systems first?? Whats the likelihood of ocuk selling LN2 binned chips in the very near future??

I haven't found much info online about delidding skylake

Will coolers still fit well without the heat spreader fitted since the die is slightly lower down?

I wanna delid when I put my system together.

Just put the IHS back on and you will be fine, use Liquid metal in between die and ihs for best results, you can buy black heat resistant sealant to stick the lid back down if you so wish.
If you attempt it make sure your blade is a new one, this requires less effort to cut through and should therefore create less accidents!!

Delidding seems easyer on skylake

If you ask me its no different to any other, when i first did a 3770 i looked at pics of the bare pcb/die and i knew where things were, the main risk which remains constant throughout is nicking the pcb possibly damaging a trace, setters suggestion looks like a safe option for the nervous but i will always use a blade and as soon as i get a sample it will be done.
