i know the 2011-v3 cpu with the X99 mb rocks right now.

do you think its worth getting the 1151 - skylake with a view of upgrading the cpu later for skylake-e in 2016 or will this be a new socket ?

Personally, I'll be going Z170 + Skylake because I only need 1 GFX card and will be using 2.5" SATAIII SSDs.

Only you'll know if you need the extra capabilities the current X99/Haswell-E offer, which is generally much greater PCI-E lanes.
