Has anyone tried this yet?

The I3 could have a lot more potential and £50+ less for a locked I5/I7 might make them a lot better value for money if they can still be clocked to some extent.
 
Ever since the Clarkdale I3s Intel has made sure that everything without a K on it is locked to high heaven.

Unlocked I3? would probably be *the* best and most popular gaming CPU. That's why they keep them locked down, to force you to the I5 and I7 which cost considerably more.

They're not stupid, the sods.

Amd have never stopped me clocking anything.
