Didn't know there was a new stepping. 6700k's where R0 stepping back in August looking at the pictures in the 6700k owners thread.
surely if there was a step it would be called R1?

I would say kitguru got the stepping wrong as this thread here shows R0 steppings back in August.
Yeah it doesn't appear the stepping or anything is actually changing "The stepping/revision of the central processing units will not change: the chips will feature “Skylake” silicon step R0. The CPUID signature will also remain the same as with the current chips – 0x506E3 ", so presumably the only difference will be SGX will be added as an Instruction when viewing CPU-Z?
