I was considering an x99 system.. but, for gaming, it seems expensive for the performance gains... so .. socket 1151 Skylake?

Can anyone recommend a nice Motherboard, the RAM will be the blitz red with the LED's.

Single nvidia 1080 or 1070, and an SSD in the M2 socket.

The reason i ask, is this business about lanes, and shared resources.. which just confuzes me.....

The chip needs to o/c to 4.5 - i'm presuming the one to go for is i7-6700k

ideally, the theme is orange/red and black

Hi there

Don't worry about the shared resources as the M.2 SSD runs off the chipset.

In all honesty you probably won't see much difference between an M.2 SSD and regular SATA SSD if it is just for gaming. Load times and Windows boot times will be more or less the same.

What exactly do you need ? Is this just for the tower or do you need a monitor/mouse/keyboard etc ? If not then what monitor do you have ?

Also what sort of budget are you looking at ?

Hi.. thanks for the reply..

No kb mouse needed, but will be buying a monitor. am looking at the g-sync 1440p 165mhz one. (£600)

SSD im looking at is the upcoming sm961 samsung 512mb, at around £250

Overall budget, is around 2.5k

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £2,319.24
(includes shipping: £12.30)

ahh yes.. thanks.. i did wonder about that.. the OEM version of the drive v the retail..

Its the motherboard i didnt really have a clue about. ie,, if any z150 motherboard offered anything above another one.

many thanks

If you don't need full-blown Crossfire then the GA-Z170-Gaming K3 motherboard would shave off over £40. It's still fairly feature-rich and has a very good overclocking BIOS.
