Skylake x cpus BIOs update?

Looking to get a skylake x 2066skt cpu for my rampage 6 extreme.
Do the 9900 series require a BIOS update , if so can i do this without purchasing an older cpu?

You need bios version 1603 or later going by the cpu support list here. Version 1603 is the latest version. If you need it you can download it here. If it's zipped then unzip it and put it on a USB stick. Being a top end board you have USB Bios Flashback so it's a very easy process for you (you can even do it without a cpu in the socket). The USB stick has to go into the dedicated slot on the I/O panel at the rear of the board and you simply press a button. You should have full instructions in your manual.
