Skylanders Question

My lad is getting into Skylanders on netflix and wants me to get a game as he saw it at his cousins.

There seems to be a million options and different versions, what's best to get? Imaginators?

I have a PS4 Pro and a Xbox 1X if it makes a difference.

There's a PS4 set with a game, the base thing and a couple of characters for £22 and a Crash Bandicoot version for £50 on Amazon

I've no idea!!

Imaginators is the one to go for - I don't think they're making any more games, but you can use any of the figures from any of the other games. As far as I know there's no difference between the versions (it's not pushing either console to their limits ), so just go for whichever one is cheaper/your son prefers/you'd rather he used. The Crash figure is PS4 exclusive afaik, but it doesn't add anything more to the game.

If you have a Smyths toy store nearby it might be worth checking if they still have any stock, the starter sets have been dirt cheap for a while. CEX is always worth having a look for older figures, my daughter picked up a bunch for 10-20p each - Home Bargains / B&M type stores are always worth checking as well.
