Sure, I pay those ****s when someone buys my item on ebay, fair enough, then there are listing fees and more ebay fees, but what can you do? Stay away from ebay would be one, but since when is paypal stealing 15% of my credit? In order to credit my skype account £10 I need to pay £11.50, £1.50 to paypal? For taking my money?

This is ludicrous! Anyone knows how much time it takes to top up with a debit card?

But it is 15% of £10. Hence they are charging 15%.
Ahh sorry misread the OP silly me. I'm sure this is not normal, I used PayPal to pay for some skype credit using my credit card and received no surcharge at all.

The 15% on Skype charges is VAT, and is mentioned on the payment pages. (They are registered in Luxembourg). Hence why 10 euros of SkypeOut credit comes to 11.50 euros etc.

It is not a charge for Paypal.

So I will be paying 15% on any kind of transaction? No more skype for me I guess.

You're just paying the vat. It's still works out ludicrously cheap in all fairness.

Skype are great and all - I love their approach to business, their website is great and they've certainly helped bring VoIP to the media's attention - but there are far better, cheaper alternatives out there :)
