OK guys, im posting this here as a last resort.

The last few versions of Skype have been crashing when shutting down/logging off windows. I do NOT have the addons manager etc installed either.

When I go to shut down the pc I kept hearing the stop error sound. I disabled dr watson and seen the error was caused by skype.exe crashing.

I checked event viewer and found a new warning message since installing skype - it says

Warning Userenv 1517 - Windows saved user registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.

This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account.

This is running on a fresh/clean XP install but also happened on my clean vista install too and previous XP installs. Surely I can't be the only one having this problem?

Hope someone can help before I go insane.

Cheers in advance

Bump. Nobody? Surely this is affecting everyone with the latest version?

Nobody got a workaround solution/temp fix?
