Thought I would put this in general as it falls into several areas, but cant define which.
Currently have a HTPC set-up into my Sammy LCD tv through the HDMI O/P on vid card (carrying sound too) via my amp.
The PC is on 24/7 as is used for Skype and also SETI (i will find you......)
Obviously the TV gets used for other things and as the sounds is routed via the HDMI, when the amp switches IP/OP the sounds form the PC goes too.
Is there anything that i can get so that we can be alerted to an incoming Skype call?
Have thought of the Pertelian LCD thingy, but they do not have a Skype plug-in for it yet.
Another thing that i have thought of was a smally set of USB speakers, but not sure if this would work with the way that sound is currently handled.
Any advice and thoughts is greatly appreciated.
