Windows 7 64 bit, latest version of skype, reinstalled a few times.
The other half wants to use skype to talk to family in foreign countries, but I cannot get it to stop crashing. Any ideas before I email skype support?
Close Skype.
a. Right-click the Skype icon in the system tray.
b. Select Quit.
1. Click Start and then Run.
2. Type %appdata%\skype and click OK.
3. Delete the shared.xml file.
4. Restart Skype. The shared.xml file will be recreated.
Not a solution as such, but try the portable version of Skype. I've been using it for a long time now and perhaps with it being portable, no dependencies compared to the the installer version?
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit (not that the edition of windows is pertinent) An Intel Q9450. Have a Logitech webcam C910 A good webcam makes a lot of difference.Skype works as well as its going to - which aint always perfect especially when skyping OZ and they are too cheapscate to get decent BB but go for the cheap "pensioners" deal - then it goodbye picture or a totally useless connection.
It may be that you need to reinstall your os as it has become corrupted.
