Skype crashing within seconds

Hi Dudes

I tried to use skype today for the first time in about 3weeks and it crashed within a few seconds. I thought nothing of it and opened it again and the same thing happened. I have tried previous skype versions and they all have the same problem and I have also tried multiple audio drivers too for my D1 but nothing is helping. My girlfriends skype and my friends skype are all working fine without issues, so I think this is just on my PC.

I used it before xmas no issues at all and nothing changed between now and then and its now broken.

Any ideas from anyone? I use skype almost everyday due to university project work so I need a solution.

To add something to this I have just discovered.

Skype only crashes when I have my D1 soundcard set to mic. I can have the D1 set to audio output and its fine, but mic crashes it...

EDIT: Yep I can actually have it on every setting but "microphone" with my ASUS D1 and its fine, but I put it onto mic and it crashes.
