I need to find some speakers and a webcam/mic to use in our meeting rooms at work.

Will any speakers do or do I need to find some that prevent feedback into the mic (which will be located on top of the HDTV in each meeting room)

Logitech make some nice looking conference cameras that will even track and rotate to the person speaking - e.g., if you wanted to put it in the middle of the desk :).

Failing that we've had good success with a fairly cheap 1080P Logitech C930e - the picture quality is very good over Skype.

Thanks Pho. I was thinking of getting a set of regular 2.1 speakers and connect them to the PC in the corner of the room for sound. However won't that give feedback as the mic in the camera will only be a meter away.

In my experience Skype's generally pretty good at dealing with filtering out feedback like that - I'll quite often speak to friends on Skype using speakers rather than headphones and they don't tend to hear anything.

Your mileage my vary obviously but I suppose you can rig something up to test it and see.

Ended up using MS Lifecams hooked up to a PC. The PC then hooked up via HDMI to carry video and audio. Works really well, impressed theres no feedback considering teh mic is on top of the TV
